What Happened to Goodbye

What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen

Pages: 402
ANOTHER TOWN?
ANOTHER NEW SCHOOL?
Mclean really doesn't mind. In fact, she welcomes the chance to try on a new persona. Ever since her parents' bitter divorce, she and her father have been on the move, leaving the unhappy past behind them. And each move has brought a fresh opportunity for Mclean to reinvent herself. Perky rah-rah girl. Drama mama. All-around joiner.
But here in Lakeview, for the first time she's putting down roots, making friends, and just trying to be someone she hasn't been in a long time: herself. Dave has something to do with it. He's the most real person Mclean's ever met, and he thinks he's falling in love with the real Mclean. Mclean doesn't even know who that is anymore, but she wants to find out--before it's time to move on again.
Perceptive, touching, surprising, Sarah Dessen's eagerly awaited new novel creates a world her legions of fans will not want to leave.

I have waited soooo long to read this book! Sarah Dessen is one of my all-time favorite authors, and she pulled through again with another outstanding, marvelous book.

I've never read anything like this before. It's definitely unique and I just adored that aspect. I love the traveling Mclean has been through in the last two years and all of her other personalities. I was upset that she had such a terrible relationship with her mother, but what her mom did was just horrible--and I don't blame Mclean for feeling like she did.

Dessen writes the most amazing love stories, but this one wasn't to mushy and touchy-feely. I think that Mclean and Dave kissed once from what I remember, and it was super sweet. They took everything pretty slow, and it was a really adorable romance.

Overall I loved it. I don't have a single regret or disappointment after reading this book. For some reason, I can't put my finger on it, it wasn't my favorite by her, but it is definitely worth picking up!

Overall Rating: 4 Stars

I'm also a fan of Sarah Dessen and I'm so glad you liked it, though I understand it wasn't a favorite, sometimes that happens.
