Dramarama

Dramarama by E. Lockhart

Pages: 308
Two theater-mad, self-invented, fabulositon Ohio teenagers.
One boy, one girl.
One gay, one straight.
One black, one white.
And SUMMER DRAMA CAMP.
It's a season of
gold lame,
hissy fits,
jazz hands,
song and dance,
true love,
and unitards
that will determine their future -- and test their friendship.

Okay, who doesn't love E. Lockhart?? She is honestly one of my favorite authors. Her books are so funny and beautifully written. They are a perfect, light, summer-time read. And this book was no different.

The main character Sayde was a very unique character. Her personality changes over the summer and she discovers her true talents, makes real friends, learns the meaning of love, and stands up for what she thinks is right--even if other people think she is complaining and being hypocritical and a negative influence. I really connected with Sayde, could feel her pain. The emotion was just leaping off the pages.

I really didn't like the ending of this book. I loved the epilogue, but the last chapters were very depressing. I didn't like the way it turned out. I know that Sayde was doing the right thing, but I wanted to see so much more of her! I wanted to see some lovin from a certain boy and some preformances of a lifetime!

Overall the book is a great read for anyone. There isn't any cursing or sexual talk besides peoples' buns. Lockhart kept me laughing throughout the entire book with characters like Demi and Sadye. I don't think there is a person who would not enjoy this book.

Overall Rating: 4.5 Stars
